Arksey
is a charming village, with a church dating
back to Saxon times, guarded by an ancient chestnut
tree that gives Chestnut Court its name and
forms such a focal point for the development.
Chestnut Court is positioned in the centre of
Arksey with direct views over the historical
church and vicarage which are referenced in
the Domesday book.
Open
countryside is adjacent to the village, and
a few miles away lies the canal basin at Barnby
Dun, where there are always colourful narrow
boats to see.
All
this…….. and yet only a close commuting
distance away from Doncaster, a town rich in
history and amenities, including the racecourse
– home of the St Leger - England’s
oldest classic horse race.
Arksey
is approached from Doncaster on the A638 and
can be found beyond Bentley off the A19. The
village is conveniently situated for access
to the A1 (M) motorway network at junction 38.
