The
Morrey family’s Christmas looked pretty bleak
when a leading national home builder gave them a
deadline to complete the sale of their Skellow home
and move forward with their purchase on a new development.
Just
two days past the deadline, Chris and Joanne had
the cash to move forward but were informed their
reserved home had been sold to someone else.
Anxious
to be in a new home for daughters Amelia (4) and
Sophie (2) for Christmas, they returned to the Swan
Homes’ development that had also caught their
eye in Arksey. They reserved what was basically
the shell of a four-bedroomed Gateford home at Arksey
on the 17th of November and were astonished when
they were called and told the could move in on the
9th December – which they promptly did.
Immediately
the house was reserved Swan Homes sales manager
Eileen Myles had cancelled her day off to get site
manager Dave Jones and his team moving. Scunthorpe-based
kitchen suppliers Contracts Now had the kitchen
of choice fitted in days, while Dave and his team
of craftsmen completed the finishing touches in
and around the house.
Eileen
commented: “It would normally take six weeks
to move from the stage of build the home was in
when Chris and Joanne reserved, but thanks to the
kitchen suppliers co-operation and our painters
working weekends, we were able to halve that time.”
Chris,
who works as a relationship manager for the high
net worth clients of an insurance brokerage is delighted
with the move: “At the end of the day we’ve
moved in plenty of time for Christmas and the quality
of our new home is superior to the one we lost and
any others we looked at.”
Joanne,
who works for another insurance company added: “Arksey’s
a delightful village and we’re pleased to
have enrolled Amelia for the primary school that
has a very good reputation.”
